American Hot Babes

In this outrageous comedy two buddies, uptight Carl (Brendan Hines) and Lester (Chris Pratt), enter a video booth and find themselves transported to an alternate dimension where the entire world has taken on the traits of an adult film.

As they struggle to get home and, ironically, struggle with the impossible task of getting laid, Carl and Lester encounter the likes of gangster Busta Nut (Tracy Morgan), hot sorority house mother Autumn Bliss (Denise Richards) and club bouncer Summa Eve (Kim Kardashian) who help them on their hilarious journey back to reality.

HP Lovecraft's Re-Animator. A tale of Herbert West's attempt to cheat death...

Reanimated!

The Undead & Cigarettes
Host:
Type:
Network:
Global
Date:
Monday, February 1, 2010
Time:
7:30pm - 7:50pm
Location:
Mucky Pup, N1

Description

So after nearly two months of laying low, avoiding the holidays and making the most of the time off, we are back with the HP Lovecraft's Re-Animator. A tale of Herbert West's attempt to cheat death... will he succeed? It hardly matters, there are disembodied heads doing all sorts of things in this Frankensteinesque classic of 80's lunacy.
We will also be screening a new Spanish short, which has been making the festival rounds in Europe and the States, a wonderfully quirky and funny zombie film called Zombies & Cigarettes.
We are really excited about this as it will be one of the first screenings in the UK, normally we would shy away from more contemporary films, but Zombies & Cigarettes could have been made for Cigarette Burns, so who are we to argue.

In another minor change to the usual proceedings, we have a new raffle prize to accompany the Flashback gift certificate. The lovely folks at the newly refurbished (and honestly it's stunning!) Screen on the Green are kindly supplying us with with two tickets in the super plush two seater sofa seats for some lucky bugger to win!

As usual, expect magically delicious food from Kenny and his kitchen and wonderful bar tending skills from Angus and Rob.
Get down early to secure a seat, stuff your face, chat with people and get a beer in.
See you kids there!

Time:
7:00pm - 11:00pm
Location:

Description

Inspired by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s Thunderbirds, the South Park crew offer their parody of big-budget action films with Team America: World Police.

Para-military marionettes known as Team America work travel around the world and against the clock to save the Earth’s inhabitants from terrorist cells working with North Korea’s Kim Jong-il.

The Muppet’s took Manhattan, but Team America takes ass-kicking to the next level. Fuck yeah!

“Why stop at calling Team America: World Police outrageously, gut-bustingly hilarious? It's also a ruthlessly clever musical, a punchy political parody”- Peter Travers (Rolling Stone)

King's College London Film Society

The King's College London Film Society is dedicated to free film screenings for students and the general public. The society has operated for over 4 years. We show a diverse selection of films, new and old, experimental and unknown, and more importantly, all for free. Our screenings are held at the King's Strand campus, which is located in Central London, in a theatre that seats 250 people. We're located next to the BFI Southbank, with whom we've held a number of events with.

The weekly screenings are every Thursday and begin at 6.15pm. Feature films are preceded by 30mins of short films that begin at 6.15pm.

Guest do not need to pre-book tickets, but rather can turn up on the night. Directions are clearly posted around the reception area.

Released in the summer of this year, Moon is the directorial debut of David Bowie's son Duncan Jones. Following in the tradition of sci-fi classics 2001Space Odyssey, Alien and Silent Running, Jones shoots his story of isolation without the use of CGI. He employs the use of scaled miniatures to film his remote moon base which is home to maintenance man Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) whose only company is GERTY the bases' computer (voiced by Kevin Spacey). The lack of CGI, often overused in contemporary Hollywood filmmaking, adds to the functional aesthetic and a realistic environment for miner stranded there. The style of the film apart, the story intrigues and bemuses. Sam's mind is in a questionable state after his Rover crashes on a maintenance mission and the audience is constantly in kept in the dark as to the circumstances unfolding. Shot for less than 2 million, an original narrative, a stunning performance from Rockwell and a warm atmosphere created through Jones' direction allow us into the cold isolated life of our closest celestial neighbour.

The hour-long documentary will be screened at Amnesty International UK, The Human Rights Action Centre, 17-25 New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the issues raised by this compelling film. Afterwards there will be light refreshments.
